Hazard and Event Risks 

  •  Last week, two banks’ ATMs in Guararema, near Sao Paolo, Brazil, were dynamited in a coordinated attack by a gang of robbers.
  • In Pakistan, it was reported last week that a bomb was detonated in the market of the Hazarganji district at the city of Quetta, in the Baluchistan region. 
  • As disclosed last week, Yemen is recording 2,000 new cholera cases daily, almost twice the daily rate recorded in February and March.

  • Media channels reported last week that hundreds of Ecuadorian citizens gathered in front of Carondelet Palace, the Government House in Quito.

  • In India, cybersecurity researchers announced last week that personally identifiable information of at least 100 million JustDial users was compromised due to an unprotected API endpoint on the company's database.
  • Per recent reports, the official website of the VSDC software, a popular video editing software website, was hijacked by hackers, replacing its software download links with malware versions. 
  • A phishing scam called ‘The Nasty List’ operating through Instagram was reported last week to be harvesting users’ login credentials.

  • Last week, the first trade agreement between Toyota Motor Company and a Chinese electric vehicle company, Singulato, was announced. 
  • As reported earlier this month, Deutsche Bank is in talks with Commerzbank for a merge, as the former battles to recover from a yearly losses trend after 2008’s financial crisis. 
  • The European Commission announced last week that the Eurozone could impose new tariffs worth 18 billion Euros to a list of U.S. products including tractors, fish, car parts, planes, and video game consoles among other goods.
