Daniel A. Alabre is the Director responsible for all Midwest-based clients and their local, national, and global interests and all operations. Mr. Alabre is based in Pinkerton’s downtown Detroit, Michigan office. He is a member of the Eastern Regional Security Management Team responsible for managing operations that take place locally, nationally, and internationally.

Career Highlights

Mr. Alabre has been involved in the security field for over 40 years. He served 28 years on active duty with the U.S. Army, retiring as a colonel. Mr. Alabre spent the first half of his career as an infantry officer in various command and staff positions, mostly at Fort Bragg, N.C. The second half of his Army career had him working for the Defense Intelligence Agency in D.C., Haiti, Chile, Afghanistan, Nicaragua, and Mexico as the Senior Defense Officer/Defense Attaché.

During his career with DIA, Mr. Alabre played a leading role developing strategic programs, orchestrating, planning, and steering Department of Defense (DoD) programs within Mexico and other Latin American Countries. In Mexico, he was hand-selected by the U.S. Ambassador to lead the U.S. delegation of the Bi-national Law Enforcement Working Group, GC Armas. Mr. Alabre was the Principal Advisor to U.S. Ambassador, Office of Secretary of Defense and U.S. Northern Command, and Defense Intelligence Agency on matters concerning political, military and security issues, and implementation of $700M U.S. security cooperation strategy in partnership with Mexican officials. Mr. Alabre elevated bi-national coordination against transnational criminal organizations by adeptly coordinating between U.S. and Mexican intelligence and law enforcement agencies. His role was recognized by his unit’s selection by DIA as one of two “Units of Excellence” out of 130+ DAOs worldwide.

Mr. Alabre opened up Academi, LLC’s first office in Mexico City and Latin America after leaving the military. Later he became an associate of W-Strategic Innovation S.A. de C.V. In those positions, he provided operational guidance in the design and execution of holistic security solutions for the Mexican Government and Mexican corporations. In addition, he selected and formed partnerships, and managed programs to provide cost effective, innovative, and cutting-edge integrated solutions to clients.

Mr. Alabre has training and experience in counterterrorism, surveillance, counter surveillance, interviewing and elicitation techniques and many other techniques acquired over his years in uniform.
