Just which of the Southwestern states has the lowest crime risk? Take a look at the maps below to see how the Pinkerton Crime Index (PCI) ranks crime risk by crime type: total crime, property crime, and violent crime. A lower score means a lower crime risk. A higher score means a higher risk. According PCI, the Lone Star State, Texas ranks the lowest in total crime risk, and its neighbor, Oklahoma, the Sooner State, ranks the highest relative to the national average.
